Back on the Wagon

This week is turning out not to be about running, but about getting back into my schedule so I can focus on running. Sounds dry, but it's a lot harder than I would've thought. I'm a morning person, so getting up at 5 isn't hard on most days, but compound that with dragging my ass to the treadmill and it sucks at my will to live.

Monday 6-22
Up at 5? Check. Dressed and ready to go by 5:30? Check. Staring hopelessly at the treadmill and wishing desperately that I was okay with just getting larger every year? Check. I couldn't will myself to run so I did my incline interval workout that I really like. So I ended up walking with varying speed and incline % for 30 mins and it was great. UNTIL I tried to get back upstairs after I took the dogs out. About halfway up my legs turned into jelly and I had to sit down. Thank goodness Parrish wasn't there or else he would've busted a gut laughing at me. I don't think that I've ever felt so old before. On the brighter side, my butt looked great in the new pants I brought so there was always that.

Tuesday 6-23
Yay Sonja is back! I didn't realize how much I missed having a running buddy until she left and then it was all downhill from there. The fun part is that S. didn't run during vacation and she's sick so with my screwing around the last week and a half we're still at the same level. We did our normal 2 mile loop, and while I won't say we ran it, we sure as hell didn't walk ALL of it... It was a good sweat and good company, so in all I call it a success.
