Weekly Fatass, Jamie Edition - UPDATED

In honor of Sonja going on vacation, and therefore losing this week's Weekly Fatass on her blog, I thought I would take up the cause. I can only hope I do it justice!

Saturday 6-13
Today Parrish, my coach/water boy told me I shouldn't be so hard on myself. We both know that's sort of a joke, because those who know me know I'm insanely hard on myself - but I discovered he's right. I went for a run today and KILLED it. =)

Friday 6-12
Today wasn't about calories or running or distance - just movement. I'm about thisclose mentally to just calling this exercise thing off and my motivation has been headed to the crapper for the last two weeks. Since I'm feeling better overall, my pants are too big, and I've pretty much kicked my chocolate habit I'm not sure why my motivation is lagging but it is... I just need to get back into the swing of things! Today I did my walking incline interval workout:

4 minute walking warmup at 3.5 mph
Mins 4-15 incline increases by 2 every 2 mins while speed decreases (start at 3.5 - 3.0 mph)
Mins 15-25 incline back at 0 while speed increases (3.5 mph - 4.5 mph)
5 minute cool-down at 3.5 mph

I've decided to move my workouts outside during the weekday - it's a lot light at 5:30 am than it used to be =)

Wednesday 6-10
Apparently I can do just about anything for 2 mins, but not 3. This week's podrunner is kicking my ass - I managed to do the whole workout but missed the last running interval... I'm thinking that I'll have to repeat this one next week. My body is just bone tired and I haven't been up that early in 2 weeks, I definitely have to get back in the swing of things.

New rule - no running in Parrish's pajama bottoms, they are way too hot.

Monday 6-8
I should have stayed off the treadmill today, my day would have gone a lot better. We don't have air conditioning at the moment, I'm tired, and somewhere in the middle of my workout I started limping. My fraking left calf muscle is being nasty again. Here's what I managed:

  1. Woo, carry the torch for me, Jamie! I am probably not going to exercise all week... Welllll, maybe. No, probably not.

    Maybe try walking slower? I find that if I slow my walk to 3 I can bump up the speed on the running intervals quite a lot.

    My poor treadmill is getting awfully dusty.
