Even Beck couldn't keep my calf muscle interested

I got back on the treadmill this afternoon, thinking that things were going better when I was inside on the treadmill and my left calf muscle is still giving me crap. This 5k definitely isn't going to go well if my muscles won't work together! The only thing I will say is that in the 15 mins I did manage to run/walk I worked up one helluva sweat so I feel pretty good about that.

Another positive thing this week - during the month my weight ranges from 159-167 lbs, me being lighter earlier in the month then bloating like a mofo later (damn my cycle!) so far I've remained a steady 161... I know I'm not supposed to be focusing on weight but it still made me feel pretty good. =)

Yesterday I took a good look at my food diary, and it confirmed all my suspicions - I do all right for breakfast and lunch but we always eat high calorie dinners (mostly fast food I have to admit). I hate to cook with a passion and Parrish has been so caught up with Pro Graphics and school that it's just easier to go through the drive through on the way home than hit the grocery store. Another problem area - sodas. At work we have coke zeros, so there isn't any calories/fat in those, but still it's probably something I shouldn't be having 3 times a day, not to mention whatever I get for dinner. As for snacking, I've been pretty good lately about buying fruit at the grocery and last week I managed to buy carrots instead of candy bars. PLUS (and I was so proud of myself here ) I bought a pint of fat free Hagan Daazs Sorbet instead of ice cream. All right in the interest in full disclosure I bought a 2 serving thing of blue bonnet ice cream and ate it in one sitting, but this is still one hell of an improvement. Another bright spot - I'm drinking 3-4 big glasses of water a day, which is a huge improvement from 0-1 =)

My goals:
1. Continue on the fruits & veggies track
2. Find better solutions for dinner than fast food, or eat better at the fast food places (if possible)
3. More water than soda... maybe switch from soda to tea?

  1. Congrats on the food changes! I always go grocery shopping thinking I'll get healthy stuff. And, granted, we do. But then when I'm munchie I don't want any of it. hehehe
