I took the last 4 days off for oral surgery (just a gum graft) which was no biggie really - I just can't stand when my face hurts, it's the worst to me. Plus I sorta feel like I'm going for the world record holder for # of stitches in the face... I actually googled it, there doesn't seem to be one, so I'm giving myself the title. =) On Tuesday I felt more than ready to get outside again and run - I was so worried that laying around for 4 days would derail me completely and I'm glad that it didn't. It was just Sonja & I running/walking our 2 mile loop and it was great. We've both noticed that it's easier to recover from our running intervals and we did run the first part of the run. It was nice though that she had gone to Vegas for the weekend, so it felt like we were both trying to make up for the long weekend.
Sonja was nice enough to give me several pairs of size 12 pants and I'm happy to say that THEY ARE A LITTLE TOO BIG!! W00T! I have no idea how that happened but I'm glad it did. While I really don't want exercising to become solely focused on weight loss it feels so good to feel like I can wear cute clothes again. Something about wearing a size 14 was a bit discouraging for me, and I know that's a bad mindset to have and I say that knowing there are some ladies out there who would kill to be a 14, so please don't hang me out to dry because I said it. I also was lucky enough to get a new pair of running shorts and a new sports bra... I couldn't bring myself to buy a neutral color bra so kelly green it is. I'm glad that I wear it under my shirt coz it's a bit obnoxious.
Today I worked a 9.5 hr day and I was thisclose to quitting today but Parrish (aka Coach) talked me into it. I managed 2 miles, 32 mins, and 260= calories burned. My legs hurt like hell and I was running 2 mins intervals but my recovery was pretty speedy and I don't feel like I'm dying after I run anymore.
I'm trying to find a way to motivate myself on the treadmill and I've decided to hang something up over my desk to look at. A landscape painting is out (Stephen King wrote a short story about that, I'm not tempting fate), and I was thinking about hanging pics of my flavor of the week but Parrish would kill me. Any thoughts?

A friend of mine built a shelf for his laptop over his treadmill so that he can watch TV while he runs. I think that is an excellent idea and I'm planning to implement it... eh, someday.

ReplyDeleteI went to Target. They had 2 styles, and each style came in 2 shades of purple, 2 shades of blue, green, grey, white, black, & pink. Check their website?
